Hey Chick Card — Creative Joy Stamping

This card is one of four cards created for April 2017 Girls Morning Out. It uses the Sale-A-Bration stamp set, Hey Chick. I cut the basket out to make it look like the chicken was holding it.

Step by Step Instructions

Featured

Calypso Coral Card Base

Cut your card base to 8 1/2 in w x 5 1/2 in h.

Fold in half, reinforce score with a Bone Folder to minimize the wrinkle look at the fold.

Soft Suede Layer

Cut a piece of Soft Suede CS to 4 in w x 5 1/4 in h.

Sponge the edges of this layer with Soft Suede ink.

Very Vanilla Outside Layer

Stamp the chicks and the greeting in Basic Black Archival ink.

I used a Stamp-a-ma-jig to place the chicks exactly where I wanted them.

Use desired inks and Blender Pens or Aqua Painter to color how you would like.

Use an exacto knife to cut bottom of the top chicken's wing, so you can place it over the top of the basket.

Finally, sponge the edges of this layer with Soft Suede ink.

(TIP: You can also use the Watercolor Pencils with the Blender Pens or an Aqua Painter to color the images. The dirt would look softer and more natural, if you use the Watercolor Pencils instead of ink.)

Very Vanilla Inside Layer

Stamp the chicken, egg and the greeting in Basic Black Archival ink.

Use desired inks and Blender Pens or Aqua Painter to color how you would like.

Sponge the edges of this layer with Soft Suede ink.

(TIP: You can also use the Watercolor Pencils with the Blender Pens or an Aqua Painter to color the images.)

Hey Chick Final Card

Assemble Accordingly.

Adhere the basket with Stampin' Dimensionals. Put the chicken's wing over the handle of the basket.

Finally, place the rhinestones around the chicken images.
